Send your fans a text message
July 6, 2011 by Mike DonlinWe're in the business of helping you get your message out, and
we've written a series of posts about how your athletics
communications staff can use our system to post news to your
website, email it, post it to Facebook, tweet it and
share it
all at once. Another way you can communicating from your website is
via text message.
Sending a text is a quick and easy way to get some news out,
whether it is before a game, in-game, as part of postgame workflow
or when announcing important news.
And the new Share button has streamlined sending this message from
Game day.
The most popular messages have included the score. Want to text
the halftime score of the championship game? Go to the Event
Information page, select Share and pick the lists you want to send
to. (While you're there, tweet it and send to Facebook if it's
really important!)
Want to text out your game recap? Go to the Event Information
page, select Share and pick your lists. The headline and a
shortened link to your story will automatically appear for you.
Those on smart phones will be directed to the mobile
version of your site.
Texts may also be sent directly from the contacts tab. Other uses
through the Contacts tab might include:
- texts to your student staff
- texts to the rabid student fan club
- texts to the athletics staff
Text messaging is an add-on to the standard features. If your website is not equipped for text messaging, contact Ted Bardach at 301-560-0803 or ted@prestosports.com to receive more information about this website enhancement.
