Improved fan experience on MobileNow

September 27, 2012   by Robb Modica

Twenty percent of the traffic on PrestoSports-powered websites is on a mobile device.

As Director of Mobile, I am constantly thinking about how your fans are seeing your content on their mobile devices. What are they interested in? What could be easier? How do they access your site differently than they may on a desktop? Those are all questions we're working to answer.

More Intuitive

We're continuing to make MobileNow feel more natural and responsive. This week we removed the 'More' drop down from the secondary navigation, and implemented a scrolling interface to move between link options. This should look better and feel more natural to someone holding a phone.

To enhance our support for mobile video, we added a play button and YouTube video support.

You can also now highlight your sponsors on your MobileNow home page.

We know that your fans want scores, and if you are using our stats entry app and are online, your fans can follow live in progress games as you update the network in real time.

Seamless Integration

As the world goes mobile, we are updating our technology alongside top companies like Facebook and Twitter. Both companies have updated their apps, and the links you post to these social media sites will display in an accessible format for your fans.

Try this out. Open either Twitter or Facebook on your phone and click on a recent link you posted from your PrestoSports website. We recognize the device being used and take you the page in its mobile format instead of the desktop format.

In addition, in the recently released iOS 6, Apple redesigned how you can share mobile websites. PrestoSports mobile sites have an icon built right into the iOS 6 share bar which allows fans to easily bookmark the site on their phone.

We're going to keep improving MobileNow in the coming months, and if you have any ideas for me, I'd love to her them. Just drop me an email.
