PrimeTime on MobileNow

June 19, 2012   by Robb Modica

We're excited to announce mobile-optimized PrimeTime live stats for your iPhone and Android phones. This includes football, volleyball, soccer, field hockey, basketball, ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, baseball and softball.

We finished development at the beginning of 2012 and have tested it heavily with college spring sports and the Arena Football League

Events on your MobileNow scoreboards and schedule have a "Follow Live" link so your fans can follow the action when on the go.

The best part is that after the game, your fans dont have to wait for a box score. With PrimeTime, the final box score is linked and posted to the event as soon as the game ends.

A sense of the action

Live stats should give the fan a sense of the action. We think mobile fans are more engaged and these devices with their hi-res displays can show great detail beyond basic stat charts. This will really help that parent stuck at the airport or enjoying nachos in the stands.

A football fan cares about who has the ball, how many time outs are left and the current drive information. A basketball fan wants to know how many fouls the star player has and who's in the game. A baseball fan needs to know the count, who's on base and who's at the plate. Look for future enhancements this fall and winter.

Of course, our new Front Row mobile apps have live stats built into them as well.

Don't let fans disable MobileNow

One issue we've hit is that fans can choose to switch away from MobileNow to the desktop version, but obviously that doesn't magically make your iPhone run Flash. If you have seen the "Loading..." message, you know what we are talking about. We're working to figure out how to push a fan on an iPhone back to the mobile version so your live stats work.

What else would you like to see as part of mobile PrimeTime? As the screens on these devices get bigger and clearer, we'll be looking to take advantage of that technology with our features.
