Stats software for 2012-13

April 17, 2012   by Mike Fratto

We know many of you will soon be deciding what Stat Crew upgrades to buy for 2012-13, so we want to be sure you know what we have available with our free stats entry app for next year.

Stats Entry

We're happy to report that we are ahead of schedule. With help from many of you, we ran a beta testing period for soccer and field hockey in the fall, ice hockey in the winter and are wrapping up men's and women's lacrosse this week. We're going to keep powering through development through the summer and fall so that by the end of the 2012-13 season, we will support stats entry for the following sports.

Sport Availability for 2012-13 Current Status
Soccer Available Fully tested
Field hockey Available Fully tested
Volleyball Beta testing Begin testing fall 2012
Football Available About to enter testing
Ice hockey Available Fully tested
Basketball Available About to enter testing
Men's Lacrosse Available In last month of testing
Women's Lacrosse Available In last month of testing
Baseball/Softball Available Begin testing fall 2012

Stat Crew Legacy packed file compatibility

We have always considered packed file compatibility with Stat Crew Legacy a top priority. We are clear to distinguish Stat Crew Legacy from Windows because we are concerned that Stat Crew is still not promising that their Windows software will offer full packed file compatibility with Stat Crew Legacy.  We remain committed to be compatible with lots of stats software, so we'll see what announcements they make this summer.

Here's where we stand with Stat Crew Legacy packed file compatibility:

Sport Availability for 2012-13 Current Status
TAS Soccer Available Available
TAS Volleyball Available Available
TAS Football Available Undergoing testing
TAS Ice hockey Available Available
TAS Basketball Available Available
TAS Lacrosse Available Available
TAS Baseball/Softball Available Undergoing testing

What's coming next

During the past year, developing our stats entry app was our main focus, but we managed to do some cool stuff along the way like automatically submit your stats to the NCAA.

In the coming weeks, we'll post a link to a demo stats entry soccer game on our stats website so that anyone can get a taste who is interested or who hasn't tried it out yet.

We're also working on downoadable HTML reports. We definitely want people using our stats entry software even if they don't have a website with us, and for the website vendors who do not support XML reports, we know we need to let you have them.
