Reporting stats to the NCAA for your spring sports

January 31, 2012   by Mike Donlin

For most of you, spring sports are just around the corner. NCAA logo For others, they’ve already started. With that in mind, we wanted to reiterate how the NCAA wants statistics submitted and how to use the PrestoSports Network to do so.

The NCAA has two approaches which vary by sport and division. For some sports and divisions, the NCAA wants each game file reported, while for others, it asks the conference to submit a weekly summary. We can help you both ways.

Game Reporting

To get started, in Game day you’ll need to set up the NCAA as a stats partner for your spring teams. This is the same process as your basketball integration. Go to the Stats tab in Game day and edit your stats partners. There you can check the box for the NCAA and set your password.

Following a contest, upload your packed or XML file to the system and that file will be shared automatically with the NCAA. While live stats will update the score and stats on your site, please remember live stats customers still need to submit the final stats after the game for the NCAA.

Conference Reporting

For those sports that are being reported at the conference level, we want to remind you how to generate your statistics report. This conference report eliminates the need for conferences to be involved in the daily handling of statistics files.

Once your members' packed or XML files are uploaded to the Network, the appropriate report may be generated from the system. Go to the Stats tab in Game day and download the conference XML. That file is ready to upload to the NCAA.
