More reports than you can shake a stick at

Statistics is one of the most viewed part of a web site.  Fans, athletes, coaches, parents, recruits... everyone is looking at the statistics.

When we first started creating statistics reports three years ago, we quickly realized that the hardest thing about this was making everyone happy. Wow, lots of people were yelling at us like we were convicted felons because we didn't put the rebounds column in the right position.

The reality is that everyone wants to see something different, and each group is very passionate about what they want. If you put the points column in the middle column, then fans won't like your report and will leave your site. If you put the points column in the right column, then coaches and SIDs will refuse to use your reports.

After years of development and collecting feedback, we've got TEN reports just for teams.  Many of these reports are sortable, and all are updated in real time by the PrestoSports Network.

  • Team profile - the quick view for everyone to see record, streak, and an overview of statistics.
  • Lineup per game statistics (overall and conference) - your fans will see all of your players in a layout they've become used to on pro sites.
  • Lineup per season statistics (overall and conference) - we had to give the SID and local beat reports the season cumulatives so you could see that your star is about to reach 500 points or 100 steals, or getting close to that team record.
  • Lineup per minute statistics (overall and conference) - inspired by Linsanity, this gives stats junkies a different perspective to see player effectiveness so they can see which role player is offering the best contributions off the bench
  • Game log - you can see how the team has trended over the season and how each matchup went as well as the complete schedule of remaining games.
  • Split stats - you can see situational breakdowns to know how much better or worse your team is playing on the road or by month.
  • Coach's view - no suite of reports would be complete without the existing Stat Crew format so coaches don't have to learn a new way to look over their team's statistics.

Basketball is the furthest along, as we've been adding reports during the season, and baseball is not far off with the team coach's view to go live tomorrow morning.  We'll continue to add more reports and appreciate everyone's passionate feedback.  Your passion is what will make these the best.

At the same time, downloadable reports have been under development and we hope they will be available by early April. With this, anyone using our free stats solution will be able to grab a ZIP of reports just like they do today with Stat Crew!
