Photo and video tagging now available

March 22, 2016

With our next release, you will have the ability to tag players in your photos and videos within Game day! The tagged players will have corresponding photos and videos pulled into their bio pages to display as an additional information tab. This feature works through the Player Editor and will only be available on sites that have that feature activated.

Photos

You will now see an option to select players for tagging when you edit a photo gallery in the "Photos" tab in Game day.  The options for tagging are to either select a player from a dropdown to tag that name in multiple images, or to browse individual images and type out the names one-by-one. We will automatically suggest names that match from your roster. When you select a player in the "tag multiple images" dropdown, you can click on the green box associated with that player's photos to complete the tagging process for those photos.

After the players are tagged, the photos will display in their bio pages. The images can be managed directly by editing each player's bio within the "Roster" tab in Game day.

Videos

Players can also be tagged to videos that are uploaded to the “Videos” tab in Game day. After adding a YouTube video or uploading a video to your site, you can click on the file to add tags for any players in the sport you are working with. Since videos do not have albums, the only way to add tags for players is to start typing their name into the “Tags:” box. As with the photos, we will automatically suggest names that match from your roster.

You will also see an alert in Game day that media tagging is available to you, but note that this will only show if your site has the Player Editor feature enabled. There will also be instructions in the Help Center to get started. Please contact our support team if you need help working with the feature or if you would like to have the Player Editor turned on for your site.
