NCAA stats outage this weekend
February 10, 2015 by AnnMarie PersonBack in the summer of 2011, a few of us traveled to the NCAA
offices in Indianapolis to start discussions on ways to work
together to make things easier and more efficient for SIDs and our
users. Through this conversation, we built the foundation of the
file-sharing program which we kicked off in the fall of 2011 and
has since opened the doors for other providers to follow.
On Friday, Feb. 13, at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, NCAA file sharing will
come to a temporary hault. As you should have heard, all NCAA
Web applications are moving to new servers and will be out of
commission starting Friday night. We've worked with the NCAA about
ways we can help during this transition and have put procedures in
place to make sure your stats are taken care of.
Through the weekend, you can continue to upload your files or use
our stats entry as normal. You'll receive a message that the NCAA
is not receiving files at that time, but they will be sent once the
NCAA servers are back online. This is expected to be done by Monday
morning, at which time we'll do a bulk send of all files captured
during the outage. You can then check your event to confirm that
the file was sent successfully. We encourage you to check the event
or with the NCAA to ensure all weekend game files were received.
