Over 1,000 events per week statted using PrestoSports Stats Entry

We're really excited that so many people have taken to our stats entry platform. We knew there was pent-up demand for a replacement to Stat Crew DOS, but we expected it would be a tough sell to get people to try a web-based approach to stats entry.

We know people have grown very comfortable to emailing roster and packed files around, and putting everything online was a huge shift in the way you worked. We have a long way to go before we can handle everyone's needs, but we're really excited with the adoption so far. Let's go through the numbers.

Breaking down 3,556 events in one week

We run reports every Tuesday morning to track how much data is flying through the PrestoSports Network, and last week was another busy week for sports information directors and coaches.

Between Tuesday, January 15, and Monday, January 21, we had 3,556 events scored in the PrestoSports Network. Here's the break down of how many of those events tried our stats entry solution or provided statistics with Stat Crew or other software:

  • 1,250 events where PrestoSports Stats Entry was used.
  • 128 events where a packed file was uploaded and stats entry was not tried.
  • 1,309 events where an XML file was uploaded.
  • 859 events where no stats were provided.

In the fall we saw other sports use packed files more, but people seem very comfortable using stats entry for basketball. Note that of the 1,250 edited by stats entry, that includes an event where someone uploaded a packed file and then edited a change.

Stats entry events by sport

We also wanted to show you how many events were recorded using PrestoSports Stats Entry in each sport over the past few months, both in game statistics as well as scoresheet.

Clearly basketball is our biggest sport, though women's volleyball has the record for the most number of events statted using PrestoSports Stats Entry in a week at 1,067! Volleyball is still only scoresheet though, while basketball has full in-game support and is one of our most stable sports.

There's still so much we want to do, but if you haven't yet, we hope you give our stats entry solution a try and let us know what you think! We hope we get lots of people trying out baseball, softball, lacrosse and men's volleyball for the spring season.
