Photo galleries revamped

October 24, 2012   by Greg Blake

A site with awesome photos is a pretty cool thing to see, right? We want to make sure you take advantage of what you have to show.

There is nothing quite as boring as a bad photo gallery layout. That's why we thought it was time to develop a new sleek way to display photo galleries!

Since we want to make sure that everyone is able to take advantage of the new layout as soon as it is released this week, we have made it the default look for all photo gallery pages across all sites. It gives gallery pages a clean and consistent look directly within the body of your site no matter what size your photos are.

Since this new layout supports both vertical and horizontal photos, you no longer have to worry about having a page with photos staggered everywhere. The photo slider will crop a photo automatically so that the image previews in the slider maintain a consistent look.

The photo slider that will be displayed at the top of the page lets fans navigate quickly through all the photos in that specific gallery. Any image that is selected in the slider will show as a larger size below.

It doesn't stop there though!

Fans will have the option to slide through the full-size photos one-by-one, or even click that image to view all the photos within the same light box feature that was there before!

Even though we are very excited about the release of this new photo gallery, we realize that not everyone will want such a drastic change. If you want to keep the old look, all you need to do is edit your site's options and set the standard option named "photo album" to 2.

Also, if you have a PrestoSports photo store, it will work within the new layout. Now start showing those photos off!
