What's on deck for mobile

October 11, 2012   by Robb Modica

Been to a game recently and seen everyone staring at their phones?

Fans seem to split their attention between the action on the field, Facebook, Twitter and capturing the fun with photos and video. As a fan, I am also checking stats from the game and looking up league leaders and season averages.

We also know as an SID, you have your phone out at the game too. That's why we're working on two new mobile features: mobile stats reports and a Game day mobile app.

Mobile stats reports

We want to provide a mobile format for all the statistics reports your fans can see on the desktop. The challenging part is presenting all those stats in a way that is easy to read and easy to navigate.

This will include:

  • Team reports including overview, lineup, game log, and splits
  • Player reports including overview, game log, and splits
  • Individual ranking reports
  • Team ranking reports
  • Conference and league leader reports

Here is a glimpse of what to expect...

Game day mobile app

Building on what we've learned from launching over a dozen Front Row apps in the last few months, we are working on a PrestoSports admin app which you can use to update scores and upload photos in Game day.

You've told us that having an app to update content, especially in places where Wi-Fi is unavailable but phone data connection is, would really help you provide your fans the immediate game infomation they seek.

The focus of our Game day app will let you do the following:

  • Update both in-progress and final scores
  • Bulk upload photos from your phone
  • Manage your existing photo albums
