Pimp my splash page

February 7, 2012   by Travis Peters

With the growing demand and use of splash pages, it's time we enhance the look while simplifying the process to make one live on your site.

The look of our splash pages will be getting an overhaul, starting with the ability to have the page fade over your website. The background color, along with the fade, is all customizable within the new editor.

The new look will also feature a "close" icon in the top right corner of the page. Additionally, the links you add to your splash page will look more integrated with the image, including a "Skip Permanently" link.

The way the splash page is set up through the back end of your site will also see a makeover. We understand that the task of getting a splash page up on your site can be a little tricky, so we decided to reduce the steps taken to make one live on your site.

One of the top features of the new editor gives you the ability to set an expiration date. Rather than returning to your root directory to take the splash page down, it will be removed at the date and time you select.

Additionally, videos will become much easier to incorporate into your splash pages along with the ability to add multiple links. Do you want to have a splash page featured on a particular sport home page? Well, we have you covered because the new editor will make this possible.

Finally, before everything goes live, you'll be able to preview your splash page.

This is just one more step in our efforts to enhance your website!
