Soccer stats entry version 1.0 now available

November 4, 2011   by Mike Fratto

After spending the better part of the fall 2011 season working with 50 beta testers, we're ready to release our soccer stats entry as an official version 1.0!

We're really excited to release the first sport as a big milestone in our two-year development process.  We are on track so that at this time next year, we will have free statistics either officially released or in testing for eight sports.

When we say that this is version 1.0, it means that you are able to use the app from sign in to the end of your game without experiencing any major bugs, and a Stat Crew-compatible packed file will be available to email or download.

That being said, this is just the beginning. The app is by no means perfect. There are still some minor bugs, and some features we haven't implemented yet. Depending on the condition of your computer, there might be some bumps in the road like browser incompatibility issues and other minor bugs.

We've prepared an FAQ and a starter's guide on our website, but there still might be some unaswered questions about how to use the app.  The testers feedback has been invaluable over the past two months, and we want to make sure we continue to get that.  We are expecting to hear about,

  • unknown minor bugs,
  • complaints that it doesn't work like Stat Crew does and requests to change how it works to match that,
  • browser incompatibility issues, and
  • questions about how to use it.

We have a few known minor bugs that we expect to get fixed in the next one to two weeks:

  • for a conference game, we aren't requiring the overall record before you finalize it in the Network,
  • updating team records for a conference game erased the data for a tie game, and
  • editing a play after finalizing the game in the Network resets the game back to in-progress in the network.

We're really excited to have everyone use it for their remaining home games!  Please give it a try and let us know what you think.  Thanks!
