PrestoSports adds fresh faces

April 19, 2011   by Serge Knystautas

We've had a whirlwind couple of months at PrestoSports. March Madness was a great opportunity for us to showcase our product, and thanks to Sports Business Journal, our vision. Now we're building off our success by growing our team.

Britney Wright joined PrestoSports two weeks ago as a Site Development Specialist who will help launch new sites as a project manager and will also assist with Operations. She received degrees in communication and sports management from Florida State and wrote a thesis on the future of college sports websites. From there she went on to an internship with the NCAA, and now she has landed with us.

Pilar Avila joined PrestoSports last month as well and is our fifth full-time Java developer.  She will spend the first few months making small improvements to our admin system as she gets comfortable with our software and gets us closer to 30 software changes per week.  She brings the combined years of software development experience of the Technology department to 76 years.

Neil Sleight starts in two weeks in our customer support group and comes to us after working at the ACC on its website. He has a diverse background in new media and website development. As a former lacrosse player at Lees-McRae College, his passion for college athletics and energy will be key ingredients of our continued success.

Finally, we've added another experienced web engineer in Sara Umar. She is an absolute whiz at HTML and CSS and will assist with breaking down sites and developing new features for fans.

Thanks to all of our existing and new customers to let us hire some really great new teammates.  Our aim is to deliver you the best technology and service in the business, and we're excited about how this new blood will help us do that.
