One of the major changes from release 4.1.9 is that the system will automatically add box score links to network schedules. With that, it is more important than ever that sites customize their autopublishing rules.

When links are added to the network, they can either automatically appear associated to events on your schedule or can be published manually from the event page. Links that are associated with an event appear on schedule pages, scoreboards, recaps, photo galleries and boxscores. Fans love this because it is an easy way to navigate to the different types of content.

How to set autopublishing rules

To set your autopublishing rules, click the "Auto publish" link in the Game day tab. This is the page where you will need to set your site up to automatically approve links to display as they are added to the network.  By clicking the Edit button on this page, you can chose any of the following links to be approved automatically or manually on your site:

• Preview
• Boxscore
• Results
• Recap
• Live Stats
• Video
• Audio
• Photo gallery
• Tickets
• Directions

We encourage all sites to set live stats, video and audio links as automatically published. This way your fans can follow the action at home as well as on the road. In addition, having tickets and directions links can assist your fans when traveling to road contests.

We recommend institutions set all other link types to manual. Doing so gives you the most control over your own message. With manual settings, you approve on a link-by-link basis what additional content you want associated on your site and any content written for another site won't automatically appear on yours.

We encourage everyone to take advantage of our enhanced statistics. For a conference office, this can decrease a site manager's workload significantly. Setting link types to automatic allows a conference to take full advantage of the networked links, giving fans the opportunity to see photo galleries and read recaps from both competing institutions. The only links we'd suggest conference sites set to manual are boxscores, so that the only boxscore links that appear are uploaded by you and duplicates don't appear on your site.

And as a general reminder, it is discouraged to remove links from the network as this can affect someone else's site. You can always publish and unpublish links to your own site as needed.
