D3sports for D-III Fans

December 2, 2010   by Mike Fratto

One of the bigger projects we've been working on at PrestoSports in recent months has been the development of sites in the D3sports Network. We have four sites launched: D3football.com, D3soccer.com, D3hoops.com, and D3sports.com, and D3baseball will soon follow.

We’ve got a great partnership with Pat Coleman and the Division III community and are ecstatic with the way the sites have turned out. Pat is a great user of the PrestoSports system and utilizes many of our features. Our mini boxscore feature was released just in time for the historic seven-overtime game, the longest in Division III basketball history.

The sleek new design on each site is great, but to me, the biggest upgrade from the old D3sports Network sites is the way the information is presented. With over 400 teams per sport, there is a ton of information on each D3 site and it all can be easily navigated to in just a couple of clicks.

My favorite page is the team page, a hub of information including a schedule, standings, and news section using our contributions system. It’s a one-stop shop for everything you need to know about every team in Division III. For a broader perspective of the events, each site has a daily national scoreboard (weekly for football) with a pick-a-date calendar for easy navigation. And if it is analysis you are after, each site also has its own original content from columnists around the nation.

This network of sites is a great example of technology and information come together to make an impressive website.
