Automatic include of the box score in your recap

November 8, 2010   by Robb Modica

At PrestoSports, our team is constantly looking for more ways to help you engage your fans.

Our weekly system releases give us the chance to get new features to all users as soon as they are developed and tested. When we design new features we intend them to meet three criteria:

  • integrate with your website design
  • enhance the experience for your fans
  • save you time

Our latest feature hits on all three.

A snapshot of the game box score will now automatically appear under the photo for recaps of networked events once you add an XML box score link.

See an example: Field Hockey -- Football  -- Soccer

If you have been using our enhanced stats, you know that the layout provides fans with a modern look, links to players and team pages and a color scheme can be customized to match your site. The days of squished, blue HTML stat pages that scroll on for days are over!

And with related links appearing at the top of the page, we give your fans a chance to find the box score, photos and video just one click away.

Now a teaser of that related boxscore and photo gallery is embeded in your recap so fans can get a quick glimpse as they scan your story.

And all this occurs as part of your normal game flow, so no extra work!

If you arent familiar with PrestoSports enhanced stats, now is the perfect time to get started with your winter and spring sports. Check the Help Center for how to get started.

Like most features with PrestoSports you have the option of hiding certain features if you'd prefer. In this case you can hide the mini boxscore entirely or show just the scoring summary to keep the right column a bit shorter.

So spread the word, because we think this feature raises the bar in how SIDs post content on their site.

We'd love to hear your feedback!
