What's the story with PrestoSports?

July 2, 2010   by Serge Knystautas

I'm very pleased with our progress in 2009-10.

You see, I wanted us growing like we did when we first started PrestoSports. To do that, I needed us to take the attitude of a Sillicon Valley startup.  There is a feeling of entrepreneurship and innovation out there that led to companies like Google and Amazon, and I wanted us to capture that.

The results were great:

We're up to 240 website clients, which is a growth of 75 in 2009-10 compared to only 45 in 2008-09.

Our designs are now as good or better than anything else out there.  Take a look at two of my recent favorites: http://upstatespartans.com/ and http://bscbears.com/.

Our staff grew to 22 people including 8 full-time developers.

There are now 312 square feet of whiteboards at our corporate headquarters in Maryland.

And, we are innovating at an unprecendented rate with projects like PrimeTime, MobileNow, StatJack, FanZone, auctions, photo store, content sharing, twitter and facebook integration, video improvements, monitoring schedule changes, and many more projects on the drawing board.

Most importantly, we've begun to tell our story.  I remember late last year, a new customer made us promise to tell them what we were working on.  That really made me appreciate how little we were telling anyone about anything.

Telling our story became one of my top priorities.  Over the next several months, we re-launched our corporate site, embraced Twitter and Facebook, launched our blog site, and integrated these into our admin system.

We have the mouthpiece now to reach you, and this is where you come in.  We want to know what interests you most about what we're doing.  Do you want to hear more about new features, examples of what other customers are doing, tips and tricks, behind the scene stories, or something else?  Also let us know if you think we can improve how we reach you.

Our storytelling team is made up of myself, Mike, and Katie, and we are in charge of getting all these posts out and would love any feedback.  Drop us a line at storytelling@prestosports.com.  We take requests.

Thanks again for a great year, and we're looking forward to a great 2010-11!
